1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be under the age of 40.
2. The information page of valid Ordinary Passport. Visa page or Residence Permit page is required to provide for applicants currently in China.
3. Master's degree diploma and transcripts with good record. Applicants who have not graduated from master program should provide a Pre-graduation Certificate or a testimonial indicating the expected graduation date (Please ensure that you submit the oficial Master degree certificates and transcripts before enrollment).
4. The language proficiency certificate must be valid at the time of enrollment and is only valid for 2 years:
HSK Level 4 with 180 scores or above for Science or Engineering studies; HSK Speaking Test (intermediateLevel) score is required.
HSK Level 5 with 180 scores or above for Liberal Arts, Economics, Arts and Design, Management studiesArchitecture, and Foreign Languages; HSK Speaking Test (intermediate Level) score is required.

Program Description
Scholarship Information
1. All the Doctoral programs in SCUT offers SCUT International Scholarship for Excellence to international students.
Scholarship Coverage:
a. A full exemption from tuition for 3 years;
b. Living allowance: RMB1400 per month for 3 years.Note: Applicants, who has not yet passed the HSK test of required level, could apply for studying 1-year Chinese program. The tuition of the Chinese study could be exempted.
Please finish your application as soon as possible since the quota is limited.
2. The Chinese Government Scholarship for Postgraduate is available for all the Doctoral programs in SCUT.
Scholarship coverage:
a. Exempt from registration fee, tuition, and accommodation fees on campus.
b. Monthly living allowance: RMB 3,000 for Master’s degree students and RMB 3,500 for Doctorate degree students;
c. Comprehensive Medical Insurancefor International Students in China.If you want to apply the scholarship, please submit relevant documents to finish your application as soon as possible since the quota is limited.

Those who have not graduated from master program, submit a Pre-graduation Certificate, or a testimonial which shows your expected graduation time and present your original certification, transcripts and their translations when you register.
*8. Two letters of recommendation
Written in English from two respectable professors. including professors' contact no, email address and handwritten signature
*9. Postgraduate school transcript
Transcrpts in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
*10. A pre-acceptance letter of supervisor issued by SCUT professors or associate professors

11. Other Materials
To apply for music related programs, please submit your live performance digitally. To apply for architecture related programs or design related programs, please submit a portfolio of your work.
Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit. If you are a student, you need to provide transfer certificate, leaving certificate, certificate of attendance rate issued by previous school and your current residence permit. - Video
