Entry Requirements
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
2.The information page of valid Ordinary Passport. Visa page or Residence Permit page is required for applicants currently in China.
3. 5 IGCSE/O-levels grade A-D or 9-4 (new grading system) in relevant subjects, excluding native language/GED/graduation certificate and transcripts of a vocational technical institute/completion certificate and transcripts issued by the current school which show applicant has successfully completed two years of high school study.
4. English medium program requires applicants who are from non-English speaking countries to submit a TOEFL score of 50 or IELTS 5.0. Some applicants can submit a certificate proving English is the teaching language in previous study.
5. Original copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (must be filled out in Chinese or English, the result is only valid for 1 year).

My IB background is strong in biology and chemistry, but chemical engineering demands advanced physics and mathematics this program gives me exactly that preparation, rigorously and without shortcuts.
What draws me specifically to SCUT is that its strengths align with my long-term direction. Its research focus in materials science, environmental engineering, and biotechnology speaks directly to the work I want to do: developing pharmaceutical solutions and green materials for communities in the Global South. I am not looking for a university to simply pass through I want one whose research culture I can grow into.

Program Description
1. Program Overview
Editor Notes: The program is suited for those who do not meet the minimum requirements for direct entry into SCUT's undergraduate programs.
- Designed to prepare international students to operate in a university.
- Familiarizing with the requirements needed to succeed as an undergraduate student.
- All courses are conducted in English by SCUT lecturers and by experienced English-speaking instructors.
2. Main Courses
Editor Notes: Students will study a various kind of courses.
English-Medium: Mathematics, Physics, English, Basic Chinese, Management, Introduction to Computer Science.
3. Graduation
Editor Notes: After completing this program, students can choose whether English-taught or Chinese-taught undergraduate degree program.
Students are guaranteed admission to English-taught undergraduate degree programs at SCUT if they successfully complete the program. Students can also apply for Chinese-taught degree programs if they meet the basic Chinese language requirements. Upon successful completion of the program, a certificate recognized by other higher education institutions will be awarded.
